Jacob Collins – (b. 1964) is a mid-career artist with teeming talent who began showing with John Pence in 1994. In addition to his San Francisco presence, he has exhibited at several prestigious galleries in Manhattan; as well as galleries in Houston, Texas and Europe. His work has also been shown at the Arnot Art Museum, Elmira, New York; the Memorial Art Museum, Rochester, NY; the Union League in New York City; the Long Beach Museum of Art, Long Beach, CA and is included in the collections of the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, Mead Art Museum at Amherst College and the Forbes Collection, among others. Jacob Collins comes from an artistic family and was encouraged early on to pursue his goal of becoming a fine painter. His paintings are sublime and have aroused the interest of numerous notables who have selected Collins as their portrait artist. His public persona galvanizes and encourages young artists through the Water Street Atelier, The Grand Central Academy and the Hudson River School for Landscape. Jacob Collins paints figures, florals, still lifes, landscapes, cityscapes, interiors and portraits with the confidence and flair of a mature artist. His subjects are hauntingly composed to evoke respect for the objects being portrayed. The atmospheres are full of air and space.
