Gabriela Gonzalez Dellosso is a native New Yorker, she grew up in Astoria , Queens . Her artistic roots can be found on both sides of her family – her maternal grandmother and great-grandfather were well respected and published poets in South America and her father was a painter. As a child, Gabriela remembers weekend trips to The Metropolitan Museum of Art with her father where they used to study paintings together. In middle school she received an award from Pepsi Cola for being an outstanding art student.

She initially started out as a psychology major at NYU, but she decided to switch to the School of Visual Arts where she received a BFA. Afterwards, at The Art Student’s League, she studied painting and drawing from life with instructors like Richard Pionk, Gregg Kreutz, Harvey Dinnerstein, MaryBeth McKenzie, and Peter Cox.
